Garrett Snider founded the Resilience Foundation in 2016 and was instrumental in shaping its early programs and partnerships. He currently serves as a board member and manages the organization’s College Readiness Program implemented in concert with the School District of Philadelphia. The program, operated through a partnership between the Resilience Foundation and the National Math & Science Initiative (NMSI), was approved by the Philadelphia School Board in 2022.
Garrett’s early involvement with Mission Kids; the Pennsylvania child advocacy center founded by then-District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, spurred a continued interest in the partnership of government and private philanthropies. He was appointed to the Philadelphia DHS Child Welfare Oversight Council in 2019 and served as a Director for the Mayor’s Fund for Philadelphia, where he helped lead the search committee to the hiring of a new Executive Director.
Garrett has served on the board of the Petit Family Foundation since the aftermath of the tragedy in Connecticut that claimed the family of State Representative Dr. William Petit. He served for 8 years on the Executive Board for PALS Programs; a non-profit organization that creates immersive, volunteer-led experiences for young adults with and without intellectual disabilities. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Garrett became a founding partner in Reeds Organic Farm & Animal Sanctuary; a workforce development initiative set on 78 acres in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
A proud lifelong Philadelphian, Garrett attended the University of Maryland at College Park before transferring home to Drexel University. In 2018 he co-founded Getlin Development Group; a residential real estate company with units under management in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is an advisor to several public companies, including BioSig Technologies and TripleBlind, and enjoys consulting private foundations and family offices as they engage the non-profit sector. He is a trustee of the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History and was a member of both the Finance and Policy committees for Josh Shapiro’s campaign for Governor of Pennsylvania.
